San giovanni lupatoto – Retraining the area around former ex embroidery factory

The project aimed to the conversion of architectonical aspects that shown the local industrial tradition and also the improvement of the life quality creating public spaces and pedestrian squares close to former embroidery factory and available for all the residents. The project concerns the industrial building rehabilitation through the restoration of the architectonical elements of the original frame in order to use the building in the future for different functions (convention hall, show room, library and more services) .

The existent complex is constituted by a forsaken building built 60 years ago and extended years later. The embroidery factory has rectangular shape, two storeys and several buildings close his walls

The vault covering has been realized by structural elements connected each others by steel bars in order to create regular grid with ribs; the vault is connected to the perimetric walls by bars with regular span. The conservation and rehabilitation of the existent building is the only way to use again that space and to hold the evidence of his history and the local tradition.
