VERONA- RESTORATION AND CONSERVATIVE REHABILITATION OF DA LISCA PALACE

The complex of Da Lisca Palace is situated in the neighborhood of Veronetta – in the historical center of Verona and it is developed along the defensive walls of XII century; the building lies the terminal part of block and inside the building there is a courtyard which is closed by high walls. The building was built on a previous construction which it had a solid base made of big stone blocks and cookstove masonry which lead to hypothesize that the previous building was a tower., above the medieval door on the high crenellated wall is situated the family crest. At the beginning of XX century the palace was bought by a religious institution who modified the building with extensions and interior works in order to adapt it to its own needs. The project brings back the building to its original residential function dividing the building in few units: the interior distribution was planned in order to obtain the best spatial perception especially as regards, the outstanding decorations on the walls and the wooden floors. Thanks to the accurate restoration it was possible to enhance the precious decorations on the wooden floors, some of them with floreal bicolour friezes and others with the whole surface well painted with XVI-XVII  centuries styles.
