Lazise (VERONA) - Preliminary competition on the realization of “Ponte del Cadenon”

The project is developed in collaboration with Arch. Benedetti Luca, Arch. Boaretti Alessia, Eng. Coato Michele, Arch. Lemmi Stefano, Arch. Lupato Veronica, Arch. Maretti Silvia Federica, Eng. Rapaccini Chiara, Eng. Sarcina Gioacchino, Arch. Squassabia Giorgio, Arch. Viviani Nicola, Eng. Zanardi Massimiliano.

The project concerns the design of a light self-propelled sliding element in order to connect the lakeside road banks and - when it let opened the way to the ships - to remind the original conformation of the harbor  entrance with his extraordinary architectonic depth.

The bridge is part of the urban furniture, it's ephemeral and marginal like the moored ships of the fishermen and a particular game for the children.

The defensive element called the “cadenon” in this project is converted to a new reassuring function as mechanism for the new bridge. The conversion has a dual valency: the scenic view and  the suggestion and also for the engineering utility. The dragging tie bar changes his shape during the movement phase and it seems at the end like a sine curve that reminds to the genius loci: the lake wave during a tempest, the geo-territory movements of the Garda moraine, the harmonic gesture of dropping of a line for the docking of a ship.
